A Salvaged Chandelier E-Workshop

Gather your distressed, blessed, salvaged, rusted, and torn...
and let's create something beautiful...

Little details, big love.

The Salvaged Chandelier E-Workshop is all about embellishments. We'll take our favorite supplies and make our own, unique and one of a kind embellishments.  Many downloadables are shared in this E-Workshop (see below), but you will want to use vintage papers, photos, and patterned papers. Mix the old and the new if you like.

I always encourage you to use the supplies you have on hand, but there are some supplies you will need to make the most of the projects.

  • Lampshade (old or new one you can tear down to the wire form)
  • 3 yards of ribbon for hanging chandelier
  • Eyelets, eyelet setter and hammer
  • Brads
  • Japanese Screw Punch or Crop o Dile (to punch holes)
  • Wire and wire cutting tools
  • Round and or needle nosed pliers
  • Patterned papers (old or new...many will be provided)
  • Old Photos (many will be provided)
  • Distress Inks (Walnut Stain) or similar black or brown ink pads
  • Glue Gun
  • Glue stick
  • Favorite beads, buttons and baubles
  • Small clothes pins
  • Any trinkets and treasures you would like to incorporate into projects
  • Lace or doilies and fabric, seam binding
  • Sewing machine
  • Printer (Inkjet or Laser)
  • White card stock for printer
  • Plain manilla tags (small and large)
  • 4-5 Vintage hankies or fabrics (optional)
  • 7-8 vintage and faded silk flowers (optional)
  • Small blank journal (you could even make your own...this is for notes)

Again, use what you have on hand, first! The tools listed above are essential for this E-Workshop. Feel free to email me (tmcfayden@cox.net) if you would like a list of substitutions for some of the tools listed.

We'll take all of our handmade embellishments and hang them on a salvaged lamp shade, like this one. The base of this lampshade measures approx. 16 ". Any size similar will be great to use. The"bell shaped" lampshades are so pretty for this project. I have gotten several in the past at my local Target store.  Don't spend a lot of money on a lampshade, any discount store should have what you need.

There are several downloads, how to videos, and lots of step by step tutorials in the E-Workshop, so it's easy to get inspired and follow right along. Read and create at your own pace, or with me, whatever you like.

Ten posts in all. You can join this E-Workshop anytime...just follow along.

Each post will be filled with embellishment style projects, tips, techniques. Some of my latest favorite supplies will also be shared!
